Introduction

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Jot software service. By accessing or using this service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.

Service Description

The Jot Service is a Web service that allows users to to publish writings and other files including images, text, and other arbitrary file formats.

All reasonable effort will be made to make Jot always available but there are no guarantees access will be uninterrupted. Your access may also be removed in whole or in part at our sole descretion for reasons including but not limited to maintenance, security concerns, moderationa actions, or if it's suspected that you have violated this terms of service.

Registration

You must create an encryption key pair and register the public key with this service.

You may also provide this service with other meta-data about this key such as a display name.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use this service for lawful purposes only. You are prohibited from using this service for:

• Illegal or unauthorized purposes
• Violate any applical laws or regulations
• Infringe on the rights of others, including intellectual property rights
• Attempt to breach security or bypass any authentication or access control
• Distrubute malware or other harmful code
• Interfere with this service
• Impersonate other persons or entities
• Exceed any quotas or intentional limitations

User Data

You retain all ownership rights to any data uploaded to Jot. By uploading files to this service, you grant the operators of this service a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, store, modify, display, and distribute your data solely as necessary to provide the Service.

All data submitted to this service should be considered public data and you acknowledge that it may be freely available to others at any time.

Data Security and Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes our practices regarding the information we collect from you.

Intellectual Property

All content provided by Treadful, including text, graphics, source code, and other data is the property of Treadful. Source code is provided under the General Public License Version 3. All text, graphics, and other data is provided under the CC BY-NC-SA license unless otherwise noted.

Third-Party Integrations

You may integrate this service into other third-party Web sites, apps, content, or other products and services so long as they abide by these terms.

Jot is not responsible or lialbe for the behavior or content of any third-party services.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Jot DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR EXPECTATIONS.

Limitation of Liability

User-Generated Content Moderation

Content Standards

When submitting content to this service, this content must not:

• Contain defamatory, obscene, offensive, hateful, or inflammatory material
• Promote violence or descrimination
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Be fraudulent or intend to deceive others

The operators of this service may also use their own descression for any content they think may threaten their ability to operate this service.

Moderation Process

We may moderate any content uploaded to the service. We may refuse to accept at time of upload, or delete files after the fact.

Moderators have sole discretion to determine whether any uploaded data violates these terms. Moderators may remove or otherwise prevent content from being viewed publicly. Moderators may also disable access to this service by keys or IP address.

Appeals Process

If you believe your content was removed in error, you may contact mail@treadful.dev.

No Monitoring Obligation

Although we have the right to monitor, remove, or edit user data, we are not obligated to do so and assume no responsibility for monitoring all user data. Users are encouraged to report content that violates these terms.
